I work with 35mm film, sculpture, artist’s books and mixed media.
I graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art/Sculpture from the Norwich School of Art, UK in 2004, and then came to France where I live with my family, close to the city of Carcassonne.
From my studio here I explore traditional art forms within a contemporary framework concerned with memory, a sense of transience and the traces left behind; the written and spoken word and the art of storytelling. I look for organic shape and dappled light. I also have a fascination for skin and bone, physiology, anatomy and the mind.
My work can at times create waves of tranquility and even nostalgia yet at others cause a slight uneasiness; I wish the viewer to have an individual and unique, physical response.
Je travaille avec la photographie argentique en 35mm, la sculpture, les livres d'artistes et les techniques mixtes.
J'ai eu une licence en Beaux Arts/Sculpture à Norwich School of Art dans la Grande Bretagne en 2004, puis je suis venue en France où j'habite avec ma famille, près de la ville de Carcassonne.
De mon atelier ici j'explore les formes d'art traditionelles dans un encadrement contemporain concerné par la mémoire, un sens d'un caractère éphémère et les traces laissées; le mot écrit et parlé et l'art de raconter. Je cherche des formes organiques et tacheté de la lumière. Aussi m'intriguent la peau et les os, la physiologie, l'anatomie et l'esprit.
Mes travaux peuvent parfois créer des vagues de tranquillité et même la nostalgie et parfois causent un malaise; je souhaite que le spectateur ait une réponse individuelle, unique et physique.
